Use of old green keepers shed and old clubhouse shed

Writer's picture: Giles ChapmanGiles Chapman

Fellow members,

Following a meeting of the Board of Directors, it has been decided that

members who have stored single seat buggies in the old green keepers shed

(to the left of the 18th fairway) can continue to do so but it will be in the part of

the shed where a new door will be fitted and be fully lockable. Single seat

buggies stored in the old clubhouse shed must be moved into this shed.

Car parking in front of the shed will cease, however there is room for two cars

to the left of the shed and two cars to the right of the shed. No double buggies

will be allowed in this shed.

Further down to the right of the old green keepers shed is the old clubhouse

shed and this will be used for the storage of double buggies only, to a

maximum of three. Cars can park to the left and right of this shed up to three

cars.

To limit the number of cars, a sticker permit will be issued which must be

displayed on the car. The car parking areas by the sheds will not be official

car parks and therefore members parking in these areas must carry the risk

and liability for any damage to vehicles.

The people who have historically used these sheds will be given first refusal

to continue to do so with this new arrangement.

Works will commence in the next couple of weeks to fit a new lockable door to

the old green keepers shed and a minimal one-off contribution will be

expected from members using the facility because this cost is an additional

cost not budgeted for.

On a safety note, those using these areas must adhere to the following: when

driving through the top gate using the pathway adjacent to the 18th tee,

members must only do so when the tee is clear. On no account must

members drive along this path whilst people are still teeing off or when

players are executing a second shot on the 18th fairway from an errant tee

shot from the third tee. When exiting the shed areas, members must do so by

the corner of the pathway in front of the old green keepers shed. A protected

mirror will be erected and members must check that the 18th tee is clear

before proceeding and that no other vehicles or pedestrians are coming down

the pathway. One again members must also check that the 18th fairway is

clear from second shots from errant tee shots off the third tee. A strict 10 mph

speed limit must be adhered to and any member not following this safety

protocol may lose the right to use the sheds and parking areas.
